About HaGeZi DNS
HaGeZi DNS is a set of public DNS resolvers for the European community, offered free and on a non-commercial basis. The project is designed and operated by a private individual. Its main job is DNS-based blocking of ads, trackers, scam, phishing, fake, and malware domains, which the project says can support greater privacy and security online.
The servers are hosted in the EU, with infrastructure at Hetzner in Falkenstein, Nuremberg, and Helsinki. The source describes the infrastructure as open source and combines Technitium DNS Server with Unbound. The service states that it does not log or store individual queries per client. Tor exit nodes are blocked, so DNS queries routed through Tor are not answered. IP-based blocklists may occasionally produce false positives, and the source gives a contact route for IP block appeals.
