Hidamari
Hidamari lets Linux users set videos as wallpaper backgrounds on their desktop.

About Hidamari
Hidamari is an open-source Linux application, written in Python, that sets videos as desktop wallpapers. It also supports autostart after login, volume control, mute or pause playback, random video selection, GNOME Wayland, multi-monitor setups, streaming URLs via yt-dlp tested with YouTube, and webpages as wallpaper. Hardware-accelerated video decoding uses VLC as a backend.
Several features have stated limits: static wallpaper with blur is currently GNOME exclusive, maximized-window and fullscreen detection is currently X11 only, and hardware acceleration does not work with Nvidia plus Wayland. Installation is available as a Flatpak on Flathub, with a setup guide.
