About Legacy Update
Legacy Update is an open-source project for unsupported Windows versions such as XP, 2000, Vista and 7. It identifies missing updates that block Windows Update, including systems showing error 80072EFE or never finishing checks, and installs them automatically to restore access to the service and the original Windows Update website.
It also restores connectivity in Internet Explorer and other programs that use Windows networking, online Product Activation for Windows XP and Server 2003, and Windows Ultimate Extras on Vista Ultimate. Activation still requires a legitimate product key. It can run on Windows 10 and 11 without modifying the installation.
