About OnlineEXIFViewer

OnlineEXIFViewer is a web-based viewer for reading the metadata saved inside a photo. Users choose or drop an image, and the page shows camera and lens details, exposure settings such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO, the capture date and time, and GPS coordinates when they are present. The viewer also reads IPTC and XMP metadata, including captions, keywords and creator credits. Metadata can be copied or downloaded as JSON, CSV or Markdown, and several images can be opened and compared.

Viewing and exporting run in the browser, and the site states that original images are not uploaded. Creating a share link does send the selected metadata to the site's server. Not every photo contains all of these details, and GPS data may be missing, imprecise or edited. Loading the map sends the coordinates to a map provider. Files are limited to 50 MB each.

OnlineEXIFViewer FAQ

Are my photos uploaded?
The site states that viewing and exporting happen in the browser and that original images are never uploaded. Only creating a share link sends the metadata you select to the site's server.
Which image formats can I open?
The upload area lists JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF, WebP, AVIF and GIF. Files can be up to 50 MB each.
Why are some metadata fields missing?
The original file usually has the most metadata. A downloaded or edited copy may have lost some details, so the site suggests trying the original file.
