QSV
Use qsv from the command line to inspect, transform, and work with CSV and other tabular data.

About QSV
QSV is a command-line toolkit for querying, slicing, sorting, filtering, joining, transforming, validating and documenting tabular data such as CSV and Excel files. Its composable commands cover tasks including column transformations, row counts, concatenation, deduplication, date formatting, null-sentinel detection and file hash checking.
Some capabilities have specific requirements. Additional formats such as Arrow, Parquet and JSON need the "polars" feature, LLM-assisted summarization and description use an OpenAI API-compatible LLM, and numeric sentinels such as -999 are not treated as nulls.
Key features
- Apply string, date, math and currency transformations to columns
- Concatenate CSV files by row or by column
- Remove duplicate rows from CSV files
- Count rows and record width statistics, faster with index
- Format recognized date fields using strftime specifiers
- Detect text null sentinels and optionally blank them
- Covers querying, joining, validating and documenting tabular data in one command-line toolkit
- Commands are described as simple and composable
- Can work with additional formats such as Parquet and JSON when polars feature is enabled
- Numeric sentinels such as -999 are not detected as null values
- LLM-assisted description and summarization require an OpenAI API-compatible LLM
- Support for Arrow, Parquet and JSON formats depends on the polars feature
