About rcon-cli

rcon-cli is a command-line client for sending RCON queries to remote Source dedicated game servers. It can run a single query with one or more commands, or start an interactive mode that reads commands from an input stream. Server addresses, passwords, and other settings can be saved in a YAML configuration file, so the address and password can be left off the command line once they are set.

The README lists the supported games, including 7 Days to Die, ARK: Survival Evolved, Minecraft, Rust, and Palworld. Some games need a specific connection type. For example, 7 Days to Die uses telnet, and Rust can use web. Logging of requests and responses is optional and must be enabled per environment by setting a log file path. The README's configuration example stores the server password in plain text in the YAML file.

Key features

  • Single-query mode that sends one or more commands in one request
  • Interactive mode that reads commands from an input stream until exit
  • YAML configuration file with named environments for different servers
