About RemotePlayWhatever

RemotePlayWhatever is an open-source application that forces a Remote Play Together session for games launched through Steam, including non-Steam games added to the library. It communicates with the running Steam client over its local IPC channel and uses internal Steam client APIs to start the session for the currently running game.

To use it, you start Steam and RemotePlayWhatever, then launch the game through Steam. You can then invite others by selecting a friend from the list to send an invite via Steam Chat, or by generating a guest link that is copied to the clipboard for manual sharing. It is available for Linux as a .deb package, AppImage, and third-party AUR package, and for Windows as a .zip with no installation required, with options to build from source and use command-line arguments for AppID and invites.

The repository notes that the tool is currently not working as intended due to breaking changes in recent Steam client releases.
