A beautiful, cross-platform downloader for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and 1800+ sites (yt-dlp GUI) with AI video summaries and post-processing
About youwee
Youwee is a free, open-source desktop application that provides a graphical interface for yt-dlp. It downloads video and audio from YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Bilibili, Youku and over 1800 other sites, and adds processing options such as batch and playlist downloads, time-range cutting, audio extraction in MP3, M4A or Opus, subtitle download or embedding, SponsorBlock skipping and automatic embedding of metadata and thumbnails.
Beyond downloading, it offers AI video summaries through Gemini, OpenAI or Ollama, natural-language video editing (cut, convert, resize, extract audio), a subtitle workshop for creating and refining SRT/VTT/ASS files, installable signed plugins for post-download automations, YouTube/Bilibili/Youku channel following with auto-download, and remote control through Telegram while the app is running. The macOS build is not yet signed with an Apple Developer certificate, so macOS may block it until a terminal command is run, and the Linux AppImage may require FUSE. Youwee states it is not affiliated with YouTube or any other platform, and that users are responsible for downloading only content they own or are permitted to use.
