BioChem database
BioChem provides biological and chemical marine data through its database.

About BioChem database
BioChem is an archive of marine biological and chemical data maintained by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). It holds data from department research initiatives collected in areas of Canadian interest, divided into discrete data, usually from water bottle sampling, such as pH, nutrients, chlorophyll and dissolved oxygen, and plankton data, usually from towed nets, such as species counts and biomass measurements. The data support climate research and may also be used for ecosystem variability studies, satellite data ground-truthing and fisheries research.
Users must register by email to use BioChem. Registered users can use a query application to extract data; an edit application for loading or editing data is reserved for DFO data managers. Some Maritimes Region data, generally the Northwest Atlantic, is unavailable while DFO reviews content-related issues; affected datasets are made available to query users as they are reviewed, and requests can be sent by email with geographic coordinates and temporal limits. Citation guidance is provided. Pricing information is not stated.
