About Fevela

Fevela is a Nostr social client that presents posts in a newsreader-style interface. It is designed to help users manage how much time and attention they spend on the feed, with an emphasis on exploring content rather than endless scrolling. The project is a fork of Jumble.

The feed groups notes by author and shows only each author's most recent post, so very active accounts do not fill the whole feed. Users can pin or bury contacts, filter notes by keyword, hide very short replies, limit replies to first-level ones, and hide users who post more than a set number of times in a chosen timeframe. A compact view is the default, and an expanded view is also available. The project can be hosted by the user, either by running it with npm or with Docker, and the source is published under the MIT license. The homepage describes a hosted version at fevela.me, but the source does not state its terms or limits.

Key features

  • Grouped feed view showing only the latest post from each author
  • Pin contacts to the top or bury them to the bottom of the feed
  • Filter out notes containing specific words
  • Filter out very short notes, such as single words, emojis, or under 10 characters
  • Limit replies to first-level replies only
  • Hide users who post more than a set number of times in a timeframe
Best for: Nostr users who want more control over noisy feeds, and developers or self-hosters who want to run and modify an open source Nostr client.
Good for
  • Source code is published under the MIT license.
  • Includes Docker Compose files for running the app locally.
  • The grouped feed design limits how much a single active account can dominate the view.
Watch out for
  • Running the app yourself requires cloning the repository and installing dependencies or using Docker.
