About GenBase

GenBase is a genetic sequence database that accepts user submissions of mRNA, genomic DNAs, ncRNA, and small genomes such as organelles, viruses, plasmids, and phages from any organism, and integrates nucleotide data from the INSDC. It provides genome annotation tools, batch accession-number download of Fasta/GBF files, and search with Chinese keyword support and Card and Table result views.

Key features

  • Accepts mRNA, genomic DNA, and ncRNA submissions from any organism
  • Accepts small genomes such as organelles, viruses, plasmids, and phages
  • Integrates INSDC data and exchanges records with NCBI GenBank
  • Provides annotation for mitochondrial, chloroplast, tRNA, rRNA, and viral genomes
  • Supports batch accession-number download of Fasta and GBF files
  • Search supports Chinese keywords with Card and Table result views
Best for: Researchers submitting or retrieving nucleotide sequences who need INSDC-integrated records and annotation tools.
Good for
  • Accepts mRNA, genomic DNA, ncRNA, and specified small genome types
  • Integrates INSDC data and exchanges records with NCBI GenBank
