About Osaurus
Osaurus is an open-source harness for macOS, built in Swift for Apple Silicon, that sits between the user and local or cloud language models. It provides agents with their own prompts, persistent memory, and tools, and can run an agent loop with file, search, and git tools in a chosen working folder.
It works offline when used with local models; connecting to a cloud provider sends data outside the Mac. It requires macOS 15.5+ on Apple Silicon, and local storage is plaintext by default with opt-in encryption. The built-in Orchestrator does not include a working folder, sandbox, browser, or computer use.
