SwayFx
SwayFX extends the Sway compositor with visual effects through changes to its rendering layer.

About SwayFx
SwayFX is a fork of the Sway Wayland window manager that replaces the wlr_renderer with an fx_renderer supporting GLES2 effects. It adds visual options including blur, anti-aliased rounded corners, shadows, animations, and dimming of unfocused windows.
Effects are controlled through configuration file options, including settings for LayerShell surfaces such as panels and notifications. The code is available on GitHub with build instructions for Nix, Debian, and Docker, and Fedora availability through Copr and the Terra repository.
Key features
- Window blur with adjustable passes, radius, noise, brightness, contrast, saturation
- Anti-aliased rounded corners, borders, and titlebars via corner_radius setting
- Window shadows with configurable blur radius, color, offset, and inactive color
- Dim unfocused windows with global and per-window settings
- LayerShell effects to apply blur, shadows, and corner radius to panels
- Animation duration setting and scratchpad-as-minimize option for taskbars
- Builds on Sway with a replacement renderer for visual effects
- Provides detailed settings for blur, shadows, corners, dimming, and animations
- Documents builds for Nix, Debian, Docker, plus Fedora Copr and Terra
- Scratchpad minimize setting is recommended to keep off due to kinks
- Shadows on client-side decorations might not fit some windows
