About TubeSize_Extension

TubeSize is an open source browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. It tracks how much data each website uses and shows estimated data costs for YouTube, Twitch, and Kick videos before playback. It is built for people with a monthly data cap.

The extension tracks usage across all websites and provides a dashboard with daily and lifetime totals. Video size figures are estimates. On YouTube, Twitch, and Kick, the video overlay runs only on those sites. The extension requests access to all websites so it can track usage and fetch size estimates. Details on what is stored are in the project's PRIVACY.md file. Stored settings and metadata are kept in the browser's local extension storage, and the source does not describe any cloud backup.
