About Vial

Vial is a graphical interface for configuring keyboards in real time. It is built on a fork of QMK, an open-source keyboard firmware project. The interface runs on Windows, Linux and macOS. To use it, the keyboard needs Vial-compatible firmware. If the keyboard did not come with that firmware preinstalled, it must be installed first. Once it is installed, the Vial GUI detects the keyboard automatically.

The project describes itself as open source, with sources for all components publicly available on GitHub. The homepage points to a user manual covering use and the process for adding a new keyboard to Vial. Feature suggestions can be submitted through a separate feedback website.
