About World Glacier Monitoring Service
The World Glacier Monitoring Service compiles and disseminates standardized data on glacier fluctuations, continuing work by predecessor organizations for more than a century. It collects glacier data annually through a scientific collaboration network active in more than 30 countries.
In collaboration with the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center and the Global Land Ice Measurements from Space initiative, it runs the Global Terrestrial Network for Glaciers in support of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The site provides a Fluctuations of Glaciers Browser, glacier profiles, facts and figures, and latest mass balance data.
