About AeroSpace

AeroSpace is an open-source, i3-inspired tiling window manager for macOS. It arranges windows using a tree paradigm, provides fast workspace switching without animations, and uses its own emulation of virtual workspaces instead of native macOS Spaces. Configuration is plain text and dotfiles friendly, and the project is CLI-first with manpages and shell completion included. It supports multi-monitor setups in an i3-like way and does not require disabling System Integrity Protection (SIP).

The project is in public beta and is described as usable as a daily driver, but breaking changes are expected before 1.0. AeroSpace is not notarized by Apple; the Homebrew installation script is configured to delete the com.apple.quarantine attribute so the app runs without malware-check warnings. Installation via Homebrew provides autoupdates. Bugs and feature ideas are handled through GitHub Discussions rather than direct issue reports.
