International Plant Names Index
IPNI provides nomenclatural details for vascular plant names, including spelling, authorship, type, and publication information.

About International Plant Names Index
The International Plant Names Index (IPNI) is a database of nomenclatural data for the scientific names of vascular plants. It covers names from family to infraspecific ranks and records spelling, author, types, and first place and date of publication. It is produced by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the Harvard University Herbaria and the Australian National Herbarium, and is hosted by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
You can use the Search and Advanced Search tools to look up plant names and view their publication details. The site also allows registered users to add new names for new taxa, new combinations or replacement names, as well as published names not yet listed in IPNI. Records include links to protologues in the Biodiversity Heritage Library and to synonymy and native distribution data in Plants of the World Online.
The resource suits researchers, students and herbarium staff who work with plant nomenclature and need to check authorship and publication information.
