About Linguist Translator
Linguist Translator is an open-source browser extension for translating full web pages, highlighted text, text input, subtitles including Netflix, and private messages. It includes text-to-speech, a personal dictionary for saved translations, and translation history, and supports 130 languages.
It can translate on-device offline using the embedded Bergamot translator, or connect to external backends such as Google, Yandex, Bing, DeepL, ChatGPT, or a custom translator module. Use of external services sends text to those services. On some browsers installation requires downloading a package from GitHub Releases and installing manually in development mode, and Android use requires Firefox Nightly with a custom add-on collection or a Chromium browser that supports extensions.
