About WinBtrfs
WinBtrfs is an open-source Windows driver for the Linux Btrfs filesystem. It is a from-scratch reimplementation that contains no Linux kernel code, and the project states it should work on Windows XP onwards. It is also included as part of ReactOS. The driver provides reading and writing of Btrfs volumes, basic and advanced RAID modes, compression, subvolume and snapshot handling through a shell extension, scrubbing, TRIM/DISCARD, and subvol send and receive. Some Btrfs features are listed as unfinished, including defragmentation, quotas, zoned support, full fs-verity, full transaction log support, and Windows TxF transactions. The author states the software is used at the user's own risk and advises taking backups.
